Laser Red Vein Removal
Laser red vein removal can provide a long-term solution to facial problems, such as red flushing (rosacea), thread veins and red spots as well as red leg veins; with minimal downtime or risk, in just a few quick and easy treatments.
Most facial red skin lesions including facial thread veins, rosacea, spider naevi, port wine stains are treated with Intense Pulsed Light. These broken veins and capillaries are found in men and women mainly on the face, which are caused either by age, trauma, sun exposure or alcohol.
Leg veins can either be small (spider veins), or larger (reticular). Spider veins form when excess blood backs up in the bloodstream. The body releases this pressure by developing new veins.
At Vale Laser Clinic we have the highest specification of laser /IPL’s. This enables the deep blue veins and smaller surface thread veins and spider veins to be treated.
How it works
Both Intense Pulse Light and laser systems emit light which is readily absorbed by the haemoglobin (red blood vessels), heating them to point where they are destroyed. Following treatment, the vessels quickly clear as they are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.
For Intense Pulsed Light treatment a thin layer of chilled gel is applied to the skin to aid light absorption by the vessel. The light is then pulsed over the entire area to be treated. The chilled gel is removed and the area cooled. A similar process is carried out for laser treatment except the chilled gel is not required.
Does It Hurt?
Laser red vein removal patients often refer the feeling as a tingling sensation each time the laser fires the flash. We have a skin cooling system at Vale Laser Clinic to ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible. Patients are able to return to work or go about their daily routines straight away, so there is no loss of time.
How Many Treatments Are Necessary?
Some veins respond immediately to treatment and a clear improvement can be seen after the first treatment but can take up to 4/5 treatments.
How Long Does A Session take?
At your initial consultation a medical history is taken and your treatment explained and discussed, this will usually take around 20 minutes. For the treatment, please allow between 10 and 20 minutes per session.
